Results and Summary:

Women's 5K: Joanna Kerchner again paced the women from Paul Smith's in the 5K race held on the Vermont State University – Randolph campus on Saturday, as she finished the hilly course in 24:39. Looking back to the 2024 season, Joanna was 3 minutes faster on Saturday than a year ago on the same course. This was good enough for 39^th place. Chloe Freund (SO: Clinton, NY) was the second woman from Paul Smith's to complete the race, in 25:24, in 45^th place. She was followed by fellow team captain, Brooklynn Shumway (JR: Bloomingdale, NY) in 25:59.

Men's 8K: Eliot Soderholm (JR: Reston, VA) placed 12^th in the Men's 8K with a time of 28:21. This time was about 2 and one-half minutes faster than last season on this hilly course. Bryce Shannon (FY: Sparrow Bush, NY) was the second Bobcat to finish for the men, completing his first 8K race in 30:49, followed by fellow first year student, Matt Matis (FY: Susquehanna, PA) in 33:38. Brock Boissey (FY: Cadyville, NY) crossed the finish line in 34:48 and placed 66^th. Aidan Minihan (JR: Newark, DE) finished in 37:00 to place 78^th and complete the scoring five for Paul Smith's. Minihan took 2 and one-half minutes off his 8K time from the same course one year ago.

The team will be competing at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY on September 20^th with the men's 8K taking place at 11 AM, followed by the women's 6K at 12 noon. This will be an extremely competitive and deep field of collegiate athletes from both the eastern US and Canada, as NCAA Division III Northeast Regionals will be hosted by St. Lawrence University to determine who is headed to NCAA Nationals. We are expecting some solid performances from the Bobcats at SLU in two weeks.
