Matt Williams and 2016 Alum Louis Ferrone take 2nd place in the 90 Miler
PSC Canoe Team fairs well against top competition in rough weather.
In a public event featuring seasoned canoers and two colleges, the PSC Canoe Team fared well in the classic 90 Miler. Senior Matt Williams and 2016 alum Louis Ferrone finished second place in their class. Rough weather post-pone the last day for the Collegiate Class and the PSC Canoe team lead by Tyler Dezago, Lauren Brieant, Brian Lane, and Lenor Marcuson ended Saturday with a 1 minute and 15 second lead on Hamilton College. Teams will be able to finish the final 25 miles on September 18, but will not be a official race sanctioned event.
Assistant Coach Dylan Kirk pointed out the efforts of Lenore Marcuson and Tyler Dezago. In addition he was very proud of all the newcomers for having the determination to finish.
"Awards were given out 11am Sunday morning using the times from miles already traveled. They have their pins, and t-shirts, and their names are just as official in the results archive as any other year. Despite all of that, the entire team, to a person, wants to hit the water next Sunday and finish. I couldn't be more proud," Coach Kirk said about his team after the event.
