Many of this year's participants took part in the Long Lake Long Boat Regatta the previous day, and given the overcast conditions and steady rain, the participant totals were down from normal.
Kerry Newell brought his war canoe and then loaded up with several Paul Smith's College paddlers for the 4.7 mile river loop. Kyle Dash, Ashley Evans, Bianca Fournier, Dave Kucia and Matt Williams were among the PSC paddlers, joining Don Roy and Kerry Newell to establish the fastest time of the day with a 44:50 in the steady rain.
Ian Haines paddled The Black Widow to win the C-1 Stock in 58:09.
Dylan Kirk and Chris Peterson fielded the best time of the day over the 7 mile lake course, including the 1/2 mile carry over the esker, finishing in 1:14:44 in the C-2 Men's Stock.
PSC graduate Peter Ross (Ontario, NY) teamed with Ken Streb of Rochester to win the C-2 Amateur Men in 2:02:28. They paddled the 11 mile course that also included the half mile esker carry.
Coach Jon Santor was paddling with Dave Thomas (Watertown, NY), Gene Newman (Canton, NY) and Gordy Santor (Plattsburgh, NY) to the fastest time of the day over the 11 mile course in 1:41:05.
