Jessie Church leads quartet of PSC Women's XC Runners to All Conference Team as well as Championship Victory

Under seasonably rainy conditions at Vermont Technical College, Jessie Church jumped out to the lead in the Yankee Smalll College Conference (YSCC) 6K Cross Country Championships and never looked back.  Church (FR:  Profile HS/Bethlehem, NH) won the 6K in 27:54, and immediately headed back onto the course to cheer on her team mates.  She didn't have to wait long, as Ellen Haas (FR: Red Creek HS/Red Creek, NY) finished fourth in a time of 29:16.9, followed by Melody Ascioti (FR: Catholic Central HS/West Sand Lake, NY) in fifth place in 29:37.  Ellie Judice (SO: Thornton Academy/Biddeford, ME) rounded out the Bobcats who earned All Conference Team honors, finishing the race in 31:03 in 7th place.

Michelle Martineau (SO:  Peru HS/Peru, NY) was the fifth Bobcat finisher, coming across the line in 39:02, placing 11th place among the scoring runners.  Paul Smith's finished first in the team event with 25 points followed by Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Science with 31 points to finish second.  

Other PSC finishers include:  Alexa Adams (JR: Albion HS/Albion, NY) in 39:28, Leah Hale (FR: BFA - St. Albans HS/Fairfield, VT) in 42:43, Awinita Stasilli (SR: SUNY Sullivan/Eldred, NY) in 43:01 and Emma Clay (City Honors HS/Buffalo, NY) in 52:39.

PSC Bobcat Coach was again named Yankee Small College Conference Women's XC Coach of the Year, an honor that truly belongs to the team for their season-long efforts.

The team is preparing for USCAA Nationals, taking place at Virginia Beach on November 12th.  This will be the first national championship opportunity for the entire roster, as the pandemic precluded competition this past year.  Thus far, the women's volleyball team, the women's soccer team and now the women's cross country team have all attained YSCC Championship titles this fall.  These women will all be in Virginia Beach for the USCAA Fall Championships Week.
