Tanguay Named to US Biathlon Junior National Team
Midway, UT ~ Paul Smith's College student-athlete Rowan Tanguay continued her rise as one of the nation's top young biathletes this season, earning a spot on the U.S. Biathlon Junior National Team and representing Team USA at the 2026 IBU Junior World Championships in Germany.
In March, Tanguay traveled to Germany to compete against many of the world's best junior biathletes, gaining valuable international racing experience while representing both Team USA and Paul Smith's College. She also qualified for the IBU Junior Cup circuit but elected to remain in the United States following World Championships in order to continue competing with the Bobcats during the ECSC Nordic season.
Following her return from Germany, Tanguay helped lead the Paul Smith's women's Nordic ski team to a National Runner-Up finish at the 2026 USCSA National Championships. Individually, she earned four All-American honors, capping an impressive freshman campaign that showcased her talent across both Nordic skiing and biathlon.
Tanguay's accomplishments continue a family legacy of excellence in Nordic sports. She is the younger sister of Paul Smith's College alum Dolcie Tanguay, who represented the United States at two IBU Junior World Championships and was crowned the overall USCSA National Nordic Champion during her collegiate career.
With international championship experience already on her résumé and a successful first season at Paul Smith's College, Tanguay has established herself as one of the program's rising stars. Her selection to the U.S. Biathlon Junior National Team reflects both her dedication to the sport and the continued strength of the Bobcats' Nordic and biathlon programs.
As she looks ahead to future seasons, Tanguay is poised to remain a key contributor for Paul Smith's College while pursuing additional opportunities on the national and international biathlon stage.
