Men’s Soccer Gears Up for USCAA Nationals
Paul Smiths, NY ~ For the second time ever and the second time in as many years, the Paul Smith's College men's soccer team are headed to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Men's Division II National Tournament.
The Bobcats started off slow, going 4-8 in there first 12 games. But since their September 28th loss at SMCC, they are undefeated, going 4-0-2 while playing terrific team soccer. Their 1-1 tie with SMCC in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) semifinal showed everyone in the nation that they can compete for a national championship.
The team is the #5 seed in Pool A and will face YSCC champion, last year's USCAA national champion, and #1-seed Central Maine CC on Friday, November 14th at 3:30pm. If they win that game, they'll take on #4-seed Penn State Lehigh Valley on Sunday, November 16th at 12pm. If they lose Friday's matchup, they play Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday, November 15th at 3:30pm.
Paul Smith's College will be without its leading scorer, Nathan Wiley (Wareham, MA), due to injury, but will bring a full squad to supplement their lineup.
