Nordic Team Open's Season with Historic Win's
The Paul Smith’s Bobcats have opened their 2022 Nordic ski season with two historic weekends of racing. The opening weekend hosted by Paul Smith’s at the VIC saw the Paul Smiths end a drought that started in 1963, the Bobcats took home the combined weekend win’s for both the men's and women’s teams.
The Bobcats were led on the women’s side both weekends by Dolcie Tanguay as she led the women to their first title since 1963 on the opening weekend taking the win in both Saturday and Sunday races. She followed that up at Gore Ski Bowl winning the women’s 10k skate by over a minute and the women’s 13k classic race by nearly thirty seconds. So far this season Dolcie remains undefeated in college races.
On the Men’s side, the men opened the season surprising much of the league taking one 2,3,4th they continue to follow that up by winning day 2 of the Bobcat Invitational. Then followed that up at the Caselton invite where they lit a firecracker off and took 1,3,4,5 to win with a mere 8 points. They followed that up with a battle in the classic race ultimately prevailing to remain undefeated this season. Aidan Ripp has led the men taking the win on both days of the Castleton invite.
The Bobcats will take on the US Super Tour next in Lake Placid skiing against the best skiers in the US before returning to the college tour February 5-6th for the Clarkson Invite at the Paul Smith’s VIC
