Bobcat' Win ECSC Regional Championships
Bobcat Men Claim First-Ever Regional Championship, while Women finish 2nd by one point the program's best-ever result.

The Paul Smith's Bobcats start off their postseason races with historic performances over President's Day weekend. The men's team took home the ECSC (Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference) Regional Championship for the first time in school history. The women's team also had historic performances finishing second on day 1 and wining day two of the Regional Championships to finish 2nd in the Region by one point a best-ever result for the women's team.
The Bobcats started off the championship weekend in the 1.5 K classic sprint in challenging conditions, with fresh snow falling at a rapid rate and gusting winds to near whiteout conditions throughout the races. The men marched through the qualifiers to land 6 races in the top 16 with the top four taking 1st (Aidan Ripp) , 4th, 5th, and 7tth (John Thompson. Logan Jensen, and Gus Whitcomb) to a score of 10 points to win day one of the competition. The women followed in a similar fashion with Dolcie Tanguay leading the way with 2nd place finish, followed by Jessie Church in 10th, and Kaisa Bosek in 22nd for a second-place finish on the day.
Day two of the ECSC Regional Championships was a 7k skate individual start with the women's team leading the charge Dolcie Tanguay took home the win in convincing fashion followed by Jessie Chruch in 13th and Kaisa Bosek in 15th. The women took home the win on day two of the championships and finished 2nd overall in the championships by one point for a program-best ever result and punched their ticket to the USCSA National Championships.
The men continued the hot streak for the Bobcats with Aidan Ripp taking 1st place in the men's 7k race with a 40-second margin over 2nd place, followed by Gus Whitcomb, Logan Jensen and John Thompson in 4th,5th, and 6th respectively to win day two of the championship and seal the overall win for the Bobcats first ever ECSC Regional Championship!
Aidan Ripp took home the men's overall individual Regional Championship with wins on both days , while Dolcie Tanguay took home the overall women's title with a 2nd place and 1st place finish on the two days!
The Bobcat teams will Return to Action at the USCSA National Championships March 6-12th at Mount Vanhovenberg in Lake Placid, NY.
